Horeca Sector in Türkiye
The HORECA sector in Türkiye makes significant contributions to employment and the economy. Türkiye hosted a total of 30 million 38 thousand 961 visitors in 2021, an increase of 88.08 per cent compared to 2020. Türkiye's tourism revenue in 2021 was 24 billion 482 million 332 thousand dollars with an increase of 103.02 per cent. In 2022, the tourism target was renewed during the year and set as 47 million tourists and 37 billion dollars in revenue.
In addition to the hotel and accommodation sectors in Türkiye, the restaurant, cafe and catering sector also draws attention as important players in the field of HORECA. It is observed in the statistics that these sectors also make significant contributions to employment and the Turkish economy.
Türkiye is also the 7th largest exporter of the global market in the HORECA sector. Companies in Türkiye supplying the HORECA sector export to 180 countries with a size of 20 billion dollars. Sixty per cent of these exports are made to European countries.
